Student Responsibilities continued
Physical
Education Dress Code
Students
in physical education classes are required to come to class wearing proper
clothes for physical activity:
Sneakers
A required P.E. Uniform, which can be purchased from the MS/BU Charter School PTSA.
In order to participate in the class activities,
the student must wear the required attire. Student’s grades will
be impacted by a failure to adhere to the dress code policy.
Those students not properly dressed will not be able to participate, and
thus cannot be evaluated.
Cellular
Phones
Cellular phones will be allowed
on campus only when unseen and unheard during the school day, and even
then, only at the discretion of the administration.
Should cell phones be seen or heard during the school day, they will be
confiscated and only picked up by parents.
Homework
Policy
Every student has homework
every school day: if no specific assignment is given, students are
to read approved books for independent reading, or study and review their
lessons in all subjects nightly. Homework
is assigned at the discretion of the individual teacher.
The purpose of homework is to provide practice or review of skills
previously taught. All students are
required to complete homework.
Homework at the charter school directly impacts the daily lesson and
transfer of learning. It is the
student’s responsibility to write all assignments in their planners, and the
parent’s responsibility to check their child’s planner. If a student chooses
not to complete an assignment/project within the specified time, the following
procedures will be followed:
Grade will be severely impacted (one
zero seriously impacts a grade)
Parents will be notified by bi-weekly or bi-monthly
report
Teachers may choose to hold detention
Student/Parent will be in breach of his/her student/parent Charter School Contract
Administrative Action will be taken if there are repeated homework offenses
