PTSA general facts and information.

Dear Parents, Students and Charter School Staff,

I want to welcome you all back for an exciting new year. I hope to get to know all of you better as we encourage and support our children in reaching their goals. The PTSA does much more than raise funds; we are advocates for children. We look forward to your help in supporting and enhancing the parents and staff to provide the best learning experience possible. Your involvement is crucial. The more parents are involved in their child's education, the better our children perform. By supporting our children's education, we support our children during these middle school years.

This year we have many fun activities planned. August 27th will be our annual Italian Niaht Potluck Dinner. This is our first regular PTSA meeting of the year and we look forward to seeing all of you there. We will have a raffle for a lovely Italian Basket, as well as the SO/50 raffle. It's a great opportunity to get to know some of the other parents and staff better. Bring the whole family!

Our newsletter will be coming out monthly this year and will include volunteer opportunities for parents and students, school news, event highlights, volunteer spotlights and student achievements. If you would like to help out or just have an idea, don't hesitate to let us know.

I would like to remind everyone about the new Charter Middle/High School set to open next year. I know many of you have questions. We have organized a presentation by Maggie Manrara, the Executive Director of the new school. She will be speaking at our September 21st PTSA meeting, with a question and answer period to follow. This meeting will be held in the Andreas Building at Barry University.

Again, welcome and congratulations! Your child wins when you are involved in their education!

Sincerely,

Kristen Montuori, PTSA President
